Trekking on the slopes of Etna between lunar landscapes and forests and the spectacular Alcantara Gorges.
ITINERARY AND DETAILS
The excursion begins at an altitude of 1650 meters, for two hours you will walk among the paths of the Sartorius craters on the north-east side of Etna between birch forests, pines and lava flows. About 45 minutes later we reach the 1865 lava flow here we will start climbing one of the six craters and from the top it will be possible to admire the Mediterranean Sea and the Nebrodi and Peloritani mountains. In direction of Alcantara valley it will be possible to visit a lava cave.
The lunch break will be at a mountain chalet (with a supplement of € 13 and you can have bruschetta, pasta and a beverage of your choice or an à la carte menu is available for those suffering from food allergies or intolerances).
After lunch we will reach Castiglione di Sicilia in about 40 minutes and in 15 minutes we will reach the Alcantara Gorges, where we will reach the first rapid into the volcanic canyon.
